  • Why go on a silent retreat? In a world that thrives on noise, silence allows us to purge ourselves not only from from the world's clamour but also from our own relentless thinking. As we quiet our minds we can make room for God to connect with us; to restore us to our true self in Christ. Silence also gives us the opportunity, for its duration, to let go of the inner need to be in control. By placing ourselves in God's care there is no need for us to set the agenda. When we reflect on Jesus' praying in Gethsemane we see Jesus' initial resistance to the terrible suffering which was coming, yet he placed his trust in His Heavenly Father to bring good from evil. So these two - letting silence drive away the noise of the world and to allow it to relax us into the arms of God, together provide the environment for God to renew us. This retreat is open to everyone, those in leadership and those who are not. If you see this as an opportunity to re-connect with your Creator don't hesitate to contact Titoki to register. • 'Homecoming' is the theme of this weekend retreat at the beautiful Titoki Healing Centre. The retreat is based on the reflections of Henri Nouwen’s writing on Rembrandt's painting of the Prodigal Son. The main focus of this weekend would be to discover the things we carry that prevent us from being fully embraced by the Father's love. Silent contemplative meditation of the three main characters in the painting would be an important part of this weekend. Participants can expect to be refreshed and renewed in their relationship with God. Developing an increasing self-awareness of the importance of interior journey and conversion. Learning new insights and understandings about the nature of God’s love for us. Learning to identify the struggles and blockages that may be separating them form God. Learning to cultivate & integrating silence into their prayer life Experiencing the benefits of contemplative prayer and meditation. Be encouraged and strengthened on the spiritual journey by God’s grace Meet new like-minded brothers and sisters. And More….God may have some unexpected surprises to reveal to each participant that I do not know about!!! Hosted by Eamon Butler.
