.Discovering YOUR Sacred Pathway |

November 8 - 10, 2019

Dear Friends,

We invite you to join us for the weekend on Friday evening November 8 to Sunday November 10, after lunch, for a fully hosted weekend retreat at Titoki Christian Healing Centre in rural Whakatane.

The retreat is called Discovering YOUR Sacred Pathway and will be facilitated by Margie Upson.

Feeling guilty because you don’t feel like having a ‘quiet time’? That you find, in reality, a beach or bush walk brings you feeling closer to God?  Or just being still and quiet or gazing at a magnificent sunset fills your heart with so much gratitude to Him?

Traditionally you may have been brought up believing that you must be reading the Word to be close to God.   However, it’s recognised now that there are many diverse ways connect with God; ways that He has uniquely wired you for to do what’s best for you.

This weekend retreat focuses on the nine primary styles of connecting with God.  During this weekend, retreatants will have an opportunity to explore and experience each of the styles to help discover how God has "wired" them specifically to relate to Him.

Sacred Pathways is a way of ‘taste testing’ the 9 main paths and discerning how you are moved by them and which of them draws you into a deeper intimacy with God

The nine roads distinguished are:

  • Contemplation (includes silence and solitude)
  • Nature
  • Asceticism (living simply)
  • Ascetics (beauty and art)
  • Enthusiasm (worship etc.)
  • Activism (social justice)
  • Caregiving
  • Tradition (liturgy and other forms)
  • Intellect (studying the Word and other spiritual books).
