Italic Plus Lettering Workshop | 9 February, 2019

We invite you to join us at Titoki Christian Healing Centre in rural Whakatane on Saturday, February 9^th 2019.

This beginners’ calligraphy workshop will be facilitated by Marian Riddell from 9.30am to 3:30pm.

 What Will You Learn?

Learn basic italic lower and upper case on a grid to understand the letter structure with Marian Riddell. Using a calligraphy duo pen, you will learn the strokes that make up this beautiful and versatile style. Marian will demonstrate each letter for you to fully understand how the strokes are made. She will also demonstrate how to hold the pen correctly. After practicing all the letters, you will be encouraged to complete a small piece of calligraphy to extend your new skill. Detailed notes are provided so you can practice at home.

What is the cost?

The cost of the workshop is $100. This includes a calligraphy duo pen 2mm and a 3.5mm felt pen, italic worksheets, blank paper, pencil, eraser and ruler plus items for a small calligraphy piece.

A delicious lunch and morning tea are also provided.

What do I need to bring?

Just yourself and any calligraphy supplies you may already have.

Our workshop facilitator…

 Marian lives in a rural setting close to Hamilton where she runs her small   calligraphy business from   home. With over 20 years experience, she has   completed a calligraphy course via the Society of Scribes   and Illuminators UK   (formerly run by the Rockhampton University, London). She has also attended a      number of calligraphy workshops tutored by International Calligraphers both   here in NZ and in Melbourne.
