The Refresh, Renew, Restore Wellness Retreat | February 25-26, 2017

The Renew, Refresh, Restore Wellness Retreat

What is this retreat about?

This retreat has come from the heart of Ang Jackson and Jules Hallberg, who have journeyed over the last 4 years, to understand what it means to live in “love, power and a sound mind."  They have researched the very best that the faith, therapeutic and scientific community have to say about this topic, and they present their work in the education and health sector.

In their own Christian faith journey, they have known the principles of “taking every thought captive”, and “renewing the mind”, but weren’t able to implement these successfully into their own lives, resulting in anxiety, depression and damaged relationships.  However, as a result of their own researching, studying and experiences they have developed tools and models to help themselves, their family, and others –  to implement these principles into their lives, resulting in restored relationships, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness.

In this fun and interactive retreat, we will

  • Deepen your understanding of God’s design for healthy thought life, emotions and spiritual connection
  • Discover how our Brain, Body and Behaviour are inter-connected and how to benefit from this understanding
  • Identify the unhealthy thought patterns and mis-beliefs sabotaging our lives, and develop healthy new thought patterns and beliefs to enable us to live in love, power and a sound mind
  • Learn relaxation and spiritual practices to reduce stress and promote mental and emotional wellbeing
  • Explore different ways of connecting with God in an encouraging, uplifting environment

How will the retreat be run…

The retreat starts at 10am on Saturday, and finishes on Sunday at 2:00pm.  All guests are invited to arrive at Titoki from 9am on Saturday morning, or Friday night for those who would like to stay for an extra night (please advise when booking, as extra costs will apply).

The retreat will be a combination of teaching, guided relaxation, prayer ministry, and free time for recreation and reflection.  The teaching sessions will cater for all types of learning styles, and will include interactive activities, hands on demonstrations, group discussion, and reflection.

We will be offering Selah Movement and Meditation at different times throughout the retreat.  “Selah” means to pause, to reflect, and pay attention to.  In this simple practice we include breathing, stretching, meditation, prayer, and mindfulness.  It is the perfect introduction for those who are just beginning to explore different relaxation practices.

On Saturday afternoon there will be a couple of hours of free time for you to catch your breath.  During this time you might like to chill out in our  “Relaxation Zone” which will include a beautiful range of aromatherapy, music, colouring-in and journalling materials, as well as guided meditations, and massage, (massage will be $30 for a 30 minute massage, performed by an professional massage therapist. If you would like to book in a massage, let us know when you register your interest for the retreat, as spaces are limited.)

Another exciting optional extra is the opportunity to book a session with one of the qualified counsellors at Titoki for a ‘Theophostic’ prayer ministry session. This is Holy Spirit led prayer, which can bring people into greater levels of freedom. Once again let us know if you are interested or would like more information when registering.
